Exploration of the role of (data on) ecosystem services valuation in landscape development: a first comparison between projects in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Ireland
The Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) asks every country to develop a NBSAP and a NBFP. GBF Target 19 is important for mobilizing more private finance for biodiversity because it stimulates mechanisms such as payment for ecosystem services. This report explores the knowledge exchange of data on the monetary value of ecosystem services between the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Ireland to enhance financing opportunities such as blended finance for landscape restoration. The report offers entry points for collaboration within the three countries on the valuation of ecosystem services and Nature-based Solutions using a landscape approach, with the aim to account for the value of nature and her conservation in alignment with the GBF targets.
