The Netherlands will contribute to the enhanced Air Policing mission until March 2025. The F-35s monitor the borders of the NATO treaty area, which includes the 'quick reaction alert.' This is activated when an aircraft, for example, approaches NATO airspace without identifying itself.
The NATO fleet group Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG1) is under Dutch command this year. SNMG1 is one of four NATO fleet groups that are available 24/7 for alliance missions. SNMG1 primarily operates in the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean.

The new mural competition to mark the NATO Summit in the Netherlands is open as from 15 February. The ministry of Foreign Affairs, the municipality of The Hague and NATO invite Alliance-wide artists to enter this competition before March 31. The winning artist will see their design come to life as street art in The Hague.

On April 25-26, the 5th edition of the NATO Youth Summit will take place in Budva, Montenegro. Young leaders (18-35 years) from NATO Allies and partner countries can participate in the Youth Summit Challenge.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly 2025 (Dayton, USA) is a meeting of parliamentarians from the 32 NATO countries to discuss security issues and cooperation.
The NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum on 24 June is the most important meeting between NATO and the defence industry during the NATO Summit week. NATO leaders and industry executives will discuss progress, next steps, and opportunities to strengthen long-term transatlantic cooperation.
