Request adapted final examination in secondary education
Are you taking a final examination in VMBO, HAVO or VWO education? Do you have a disability or limitation? If so, your school can accommodate your personal situation in the examination. For instance, you can receive extra time to complete the examination. Were you unable to participate enough in your programme in your examination year due to a chronic illness or circumstances beyond your control? If so, you may be entitled to take the examination over 2 years.

Conditions for an adapted final examination
You must meet certain conditions to take an adapted final examination (in Dutch). For instance, if you do not have an obvious physical limitation, you will need an expert opinion from a psychologist, remedial education specialist, neurologist or psychiatrist.
Request an adapted final examination
You can request an adapted final examination from the head of your school.
The final examinations are offered for:
- voorbereidend middelbaar beroepsonderwijs – VMBO (pre-vocational secondary education)
- hoger algemeen voortgezet onderwijs – HAVO (higher general secondary education)
- voorbereidend wetenschappelijk onderwijs – VWO (pre-academic education)
