International organisations (IOs) contribute to the achievement of Netherlands’ policy goals, such as the promotion of the international legal order. The Ambassador for International Organisations (AMIO) and the Host Nation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are the IOs’ points of contact.
Below you will find a list of all the international organisations (IOs) currently based in the Netherlands. The Netherlands focuses mainly on attracting:
- IOs that tie in with the themes of peace, justice and security;
- IOs that tie in with the 9 leading economic sectors included in the Netherlands’ ‘top sector’ policy;
- IOs whose mandate is similar to those of IOs already located in the Netherlands.
