Applying for compensation for loss, delay or damage of a postal item
In the event of loss, delay or damage to a postal item that is sent, you may be entitled to compensation.

Eligibility for compensation
You may be eligible to receive compensation if you meet the following conditions:
- You have sent the postal item using the Universal Postal Service. In the Netherlands, this is PostNL. In the event of loss or damage caused by another parcel delivery service, you must report your complaint to that parcel delivery service.
- You are the sender.
- You have sent the item by PostNL’s registered post, ‘spoedservice’ (priority delivery) or ‘verzekerservice’ (registered post with extra insurance).
