Applying for a Special certificate of airworthiness for a home built aircraft
If you have built your own aircraft (amateur aircraft), you must apply for a special certificate of airworthiness (speciaal Bewijs van Luchtwaardigheid, speciaal-BvL).

Information to be submitted when applying for a special certificate of airworthiness
Documents that should accompany an application for the certificate of airworthiness include:
- an overview of the aircraft;
- a statement that the aircraft was built according to the design evaluated;
- a statement that the aircraft has no significant deficiencies;
- a copy of the flight manual that accompanies the amateur aircraft;
- a noise measurement report.
Applying for a special certificate of airworthiness
Applications for a special certificate of airworthiness are made to the ILT, which is the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate. Use the form Application for special certificate of airworthiness (in Dutch).
