The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management processes different types of personal data, depending on the purpose for which it is to be used.
What is the reason and legal basis for processing personal data?
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management processes your personal data either because you make use of our services, because you provide your data to us, or because we have a statutory obligation to do so.
How long do we keep your personal data?
The Ministry keeps data for no longer than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which it is used. It may however keep and use data for longer if it is needed for investigative purposes, for example if someone has committed a criminal offence.
Sharing personal data with third parties
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management does not sell your data to third parties and shares data only if it is necessary in order to achieve the purpose described or to meet a statutory obligation. We enter into an agreement with any company that processes your data at our request. This ensures a uniform level of data protection and confidentiality. The Ministry remains ultimately responsible for such instances of data processing.
How do we protect personal data?
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management takes data protection seriously, and takes suitable measures to combat abuse, loss, unauthorised accessing, unwanted publication or unauthorised amendment of data.
Accessing, rectifying or erasing data
You have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw permission to process your data, and to object to the processing of your data by the Ministry. You also have the right to ‘data portability’. This means you can ask us to send the personal data in our possession to you or another organisation of your choice.
