Macroeconomic Issues and Labour Market Department (MEVA)

Director: Dr Nicole Kroon 

Tasks

MEVA is responsible for helping to ensure adequate care can be delivered now and in the future. It focuses in particular on labour market issues (sufficient availability of qualified personnel) and financing (affordability of healthcare in the long term). Based on its strategic and knowledge-centred role the department looks at the full spectrum of care provision: from nursing and treatment to public health. To this end MEVA provides information as well as instruments for knowledge and policy on:

  • education and training;
  • occupations (including legislation on regulated professions);
  • labour market issues;
  • estimates;
  • funding;
  • strategy;
  • knowledge.

Financial and Economic Affairs Department (FEZ)

Tasks

FEZ is the Ministry’s corporate controller. It is responsible for budgetary policymaking processes and for providing financial information. The department gives independent advice to the political leadership and senior civil servants on all topics relating to the Ministry’s budget.
