Mid-term evaluation of Feeder Roads’ Improvement and Maintenance Project
Mid-term evaluation of Feeder Roads’ Improvement and Maintenance Project (FRIMP) with financial support from the Royal Netherlands Embassy in South Sudan. December 2019 to August 2021.
The mid-term evaluation of the feeder roads rehabilitation and improvement project (FRIMP) implemented by WFP (World Food Program) shows satisfactory results on relevance, efficiency, and effectiveness. The sustainability is unsatisfactory and the WFP should present interventions to improve sustainability within the remaining implementation time and resources.
The mid-term evaluation assesses the construction of the Yambio (Saura)-Nzara road (28 km) in Western Equatoria State, and the Torit-Magwi road (48 km) in Eastern Equatoria State, South Sudan. These roads were built by the World Food Programme (WFP) and funded by the Netherlands. Surveys and interviews were conducted in July and August 2021. Security situation in the intervention areas delayed the evaluation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the evaluator worked remotely and was supported by the WFP monitoring and evaluation department. The mid-term evaluation serves as a decision and steering tool for planning remaining outputs to achieve the set outcomes and impacts in a sustainable way. This report will also provide input on the requested extension and top-up of the current activity.
