Letter to parliament about Preference decision ERTMS and Railway map 3.0

In the preferred scenario ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) will be implemented with the tried-and-tested technology of Level 2 on the railway network in large parts of the broader Randstad in the period up to 2028. In 2022, ERTMS will have been installed in all of the rolling stock in use by the Dutch railways. The customer will be prioritised within the rollout of ERTMS; passengers and freight transporters must benefit from the advantages and ideally be unaware of the transition.
