Statement of the International Contact Group (ICG) on the situation in Eastern DRC
The International Contact Group for the Great Lakes (ICG), chaired by Germany, gave a statement on the situation in eastern DRC.
The International Contact Group for the Great Lakes, including representatives from Belgium, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States, fully supports the call by the President of Angola and Chair of the African Union João Lourenço for a cessation of hostilities in eastern DRC starting at midnight on 16 March 2025.
The International Contact Group calls on all parties to respect the ceasefire and engage sincerely in the political peace process and implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2773 (2025).
