Applying for debt discharge if you have been overpaid sickness benefit (or have received it without being entitled to it)
If you have been overpaid sickness benefit or if you have received it without being entitled to it, the UWV will reclaim that amount from you. You are obliged to repay the overpayment. In certain circumstances, the UWV can grant full or partial discharge.
Eligibility for debt discharge
To obtain full or partial debt discharge, you must meet certain conditions. For example, you must meet the payment schedule for at least three years. The monthly repayment amounts are set out in the payment schedule (in Dutch) you have agreed with the UWV.
